At Ton Infants’ School all children will be given the opportunities to develop DCF skills in a truly cross-curricular way. They can:
*Learn through first-hand, authentic, meaningful and purposeful, experiential activities both indoors and outdoors with the serious business of ‘play’ providing the vehicle.
*Consolidate their learning, play with ideas, experiment, take risks, solve problems and make decisions.
*Develop their knowledge and understanding of digital competence skills through a wide range of activities which are taught alongside each enquiry.
*Ask questions, voice/express opinions and making choices through a variety of media and by building on previous experiences.
*Listen and respond to others, to the variety of life experiences that their peers bring to the learning environment, and to a range of stimuli, including audio-visual material and ICT interactive software.
*Learn through a curriculum which is appropriate to their stage of development rather than age related outcomes.
Children will move on to the next stages when they are developmentally ready and at their own pace.
Ton Pentre Infants School will:
*Provide opportunities for the children to access and develop their digital competence through all Areas of Learning and Experience to enable children to become digitally competent, independent and prepare them for lifelong learning.
